National and Local

When Allied Grain and Banks Cargill merged to form Frontier in April 2005, they created an independent company with significantly enhanced resources - and national and international influence.
Since the merger, we have worked tirelessly to bring new ideas and business solutions to our customers and to provide real supply chain benefits only available through Frontier.
With over 600 employees based across 36 regional offices and stores, we combine the expertise, partnerships and best practices of two highly successful agricultural organisations and yet remain agile enough to meet individual needs.
At Frontier, we use a strategic "whole farm" approach to help farmers develop and market their arable produce. We provide access to some of the UK's leading farm traders, agronomists and marketers and decades of hands-on knowledge and experience. Frontier will seek out the best end-markets, grow the crops to match that demand and minimise the supply chain length between grower and processor ensuring continuity and security for the future.
Established and Innovative
Frontier's proven financial strength underpins a continued investment in people, assets, transport and IT systems, training, as well as cutting-edge research and development. Working in collaboration with farmers and manufacturers, we continually add to our understanding of agricultural and food processes and marketplaces. We give you access to some of the UK's leading farm traders, agronomists and marketers - and decades of hands-on knowledge and experience.
Stable and Adaptable
Growing for Markets

Frontier is the industry leader in farm assurance and protocol growing and understands both the complexities of arable agriculture and the exacting requirements of the food industry.
Our long term relationships with well established food and drink manufacturers such as Coors, RHM and Diageo have been enhanced through the merger and will ensure a real contribution to the profitability of farming enterprises.
We are also at the forefront of new industrial markets through our industrial crops division Kings and are heavily involved in development work into bio-energy and bio-fuel production.
Diverse & Focused

Seed
Our network of trials and technical centres allows us to evaluate and test newly developed seed varieties prior to their commercial release. We also work closely with the plant breeding industry and the world's leading crop protection companies to add a full agronomic evaluation to this procedure. This means that when we bring a new seed variety to you, we are totally confident that it has been thoroughly assessed both for its suitability for the market and its agronomic profile.
Our production plants are fully equipped with highly accurate seed treatment application units enabling us to offer the highest quality of cereals, pulses, herbage seed, maize and oilseed rape. We also offer a comprehensive package of agronomic advice, crop nutrition and grain marketing solutions ensuring growers have every opportunity to maximise returns.
Agronomy
Frontier provides professional agronomic advice to our farmer customers, offering a complete agronomy service using the Muddy Boots computerised field recording system. All agronomists are members of the BASIS and FACTS professional register. Our agronomists provide a comprehensive practical advisory service on most crops including the main combinable crops as well as potatoes, vegetables and sugar beet.
Fertiliser
We are the premier supplier of quality fertiliser products and technical advice to the agricultural sector. At Frontier we pride ourselves in providing the highest quality technical advice, advising on efficient fertiliser use and your cropping, whilst focusing on specific geographical soil requirements and local markets. We have built strong relationships with several major global fertiliser suppliers, allowing us to source high quality, agronomically proven products at a competitive price.
