Launched just over three years ago, iSOYL is an app that turns your Apple iPad into a variable rate application system, allowing you to manage your precision crop production tasks direct from the tractor cab.
Files created in MySOYL are transferred easily to iSOYL and can be used straight away in the field. As well as being easy to use, it's also compatible with a huge range of drills – something many growers often ask us about so they can ensure their own drill will support the system.
With that in mind, I thought it would be helpful to provide a short summary of how iSOYL works and the key technical requirements.
Two things need to exist for iSOYL to work with a drill controller:
- Physical connectivity through a socket on the controller which the iSOYL connector cable can plug into;
- Language compatibility which ensures that the iSOYL cable communicates the required seed rate in the right format.
