Frontier’s TELUS partnership brings practical farm management tools to growers

Frontier Agriculture’s partnership with agri-tech market-leader, TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods, is helping UK growers move to the next generation of cloud-based crop recording with TELUS Crop Management.

Designed to meet modern farm needs around compliance, accurate crop record-keeping, agronomy activity and cost analysis, the platform builds on the strongest features of legacy products TELUS Farm Management (formerly Greenlight) and Farmplan’s Gatekeeper, which TELUS acquired in 2024.

Simplifying crop recording and compliance

A major software provider for the agriculture sector, TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods offers independent, trusted data systems across the supply chain. Through TELUS Crop Management, growers can bring field-level information into sharp focus, with easy access to agronomy recommendations, job workflows and gross margin performance.

The platform supports record-keeping across single or multiple farm businesses, while built-in tools for cost-tracking, stock management and pricing help users stay on top of performance and profitability. Integrated nutrient management resources - including England’s RB209 guidance, with Scotland’s expected to follow – add further practical value.

Cutting admin, improving usability

For early adopters of the platform, the benefits are already being seen in day-to-day farm operations.

James Falker, farmer

James Faulkner, who farms 1,350 hectares around Colchester in Essex, says TELUS Crop Management has significantly reduced the administrative burden for his business.

“Some of the historic platforms felt too complicated for everyday farm management, and there was a lot of functionality we weren’t using.

“Our Frontier agronomist, Marcus Mann, recommended we try TELUS Crop Management and since moving to the platform we’ve been very impressed. It’s really responsive, and it’s clear TELUS want to learn from users to keep improving the product.”

For James it’s essential that the whole farm team can use the platform with confidence, and that it can grow alongside the business.

“The app works brilliantly for us,” he continues. “It’s user-friendly, I can find exactly what I need and collaboration is much easier. We see what Marcus sees, and we can input into plans as needed – so much time was wasted in previous systems having to delete and redo plans that we couldn’t manage together.”

Greater efficiency and future MyFarm integrations

Sarah Alexander, head of MyFarm commercial at Frontier

Highlighting the value of the partnership, Frontier head of MyFarm commercial, Sarah Alexander says: “We’re really pleased to be working with TELUS to help growers move to a platform that improves traceability and record-keeping. Saving time and cutting back on unnecessary admin means they can now prioritise the practical work on farm.”

Core to this is the data exchange between growers and their agronomists, helping to reduce duplication and increase efficiency. Sarah continues: “This ensures growers and their advisors are always working with accurate, accessible information, with decisions and plans able to be verified for compliance and traceability.”

At a time when food, drink and feed manufacturers are increasingly seeking evidence of sustainable crop production practices within their supply chains, the need for secure farm data and record-keeping has never been greater.

“It’s important though that we streamline the solution as much as possible for our customers,” says Sarah. With this in mind, Frontier’s digital specialists are working closely with TELUS to integrate TELUS Crop Management into the business’ MyFarm platform.

Ben Hatton, sales and key account manager at TELUS

Sales and key account manager at TELUS, Ben Hatton adds: "This partnership is designed to deliver real value to UK growers by bringing TELUS Crop Management directly into Frontier’s MyFarm ecosystem.

“By combining these platforms, we’re helping simplify compliance, streamline workflows and create a more connected experience for growers and agronomists. This helps growers gain the actionable insights they need to make day-to-day farm decisions with confidence.”

Support with platform migration

Frontier is supporting growers as they transition to the new platform, with eligible agronomy customers receiving a fully funded annual subscription to the standard version of TELUS Crop Management.

Growers can move at a pace that suits their business too. While many have already started switching, those yet to do so can be reassured that legacy systems will continue to be fully maintained and supported, giving them the flexibility to change when the timing is right.

“We know every farm business is different, and their set‑up will shape when they’re ready to take this step. Our priority is to support growers in the way that works for them, and we’re excited to continue our relationship with TELUS to deliver this best-in-class technology,” says Sarah.
