Frontier Agriculture is rolling out digital monitoring technology across its grain storage network, working with agtech provider Javelot to deploy the system across key UK sites as part of a three-year programme to strengthen grain storage and improve visibility of grain condition for growers and grain customers.

The system was first introduced during the 2025 harvest across three locations and is now being extended to a further seven sites in 2026. Once complete, around 500,000 tonnes of grain across Frontier’s storage network will be monitored continuously using the digital system.

Enhancing visibility for customers whilst modernising Frontier’s storage network

As the UK’s leading crop production and grain marketing business, Frontier continues to modernise its infrastructure and operations to support the reliability and efficiency of the UK grain supply chain.

The adoption of Javelot’s digital platform provides far greater visibility of grain condition than legacy systems. The technology enables deeper monitoring within the bulk and captures multiple temperature points, helping Frontier teams identify trends earlier and manage sites more efficiently. This gives growers greater confidence in how their crops are managed in store and provides improved assurance to food, feed and drink manufacturers who rely on consistent, well-maintained grain.

Among the first adopters in the UK

Frontier was among the first UK businesses to install Javelot’s digital monitoring system, with the initial rollout during the 2025 harvest helping shape the next phase of development and deployment. The approach Frontier is taking represents one of the earliest examples of digital grain monitoring being deployed at this scale in the UK.
