Frontier helps farmers move bumper barley harvest

marina r smd aug 2013 2 300x200The Marina R is currently in dock at Frontier's facilities in Southampton. The 27,500 tonne vessel will be loaded with local farmers' barley which is destined for Tunisia.

Jon Duffy, trading director for Frontier, says: "Harvest 2013 presents a more complex set of circumstances than is usual with a larger proportion of spring crops to harvest, store and market. The vessel we are loading is one example of how we are helping growers find solutions to logistical challenges this harvest.  Much of the grain being loaded will have come straight off the combine and to the port, helping to alleviate pressure on farm storage space."

The Marina R will set sail later in the week once loading is complete.
