Support for the Arable and Horticultural Soil Standard and Improved Grassland Standard

That is why we have created the SFI soils package to make compliance as easy as possible for growers engaged in the scheme in England.

The SFI soils package
£4/ha per year
The SFI Soils Package gives you everything you need to get started with the Arable and Horticultural Soils or Improved Grassland Soils standard, including a compliance summary and consultation with a sustainability expert.
Package contents:
- Virtual consultation with a compliance expert
- SFI compliance summary
- Ongoing SFI support line for the life of your agreement
- A soil management plan created by our MyCompliance team
- A soil assessment and action plan
- An annual review of your soil management plan for the life of the SFI agreement
- Per-field organic matter analysis (LOI and Dumas)
- Annual logging of cropping to evidence winter crop cover or herb rich swards
- Annual logging of organic material applications (manures, straw management, etc.)
- Recording sheets for structure scoring and green covers (or digital records via MySOYL)
- Cover crop advice and technical support from our Kings Crops advisory team.
The Sustainable Farming Incentive will continue to develop with a series of further standards over the next three years. We will continue to monitor the requirements for these standards and offer advice and further options as required.
Please note that existing agreements can be updated with any future standards and associated payments as applicable.

Package upgrades
Package upgrades are available for growers who want to take their activity further.
The upgrades focus on ensuring you stay compliant with the Farming Rules for Water requirements while gaining insights into your nutrient levels. This will help you more accurately apply crop nutrition and enable you to reduce input costs, enhance yields and prepare for the stricter criteria that may be a part of future SFI schemes.
